🧾 Review Your Ballot Carefully
Whether you are marking a ballot by hand, using a machine to print your ballot, or receiving a ballot in the mail, take a moment to verify the ballot is the correct one for you.
Verify your selections before you leave the polling location. Machines sometimes make mistakes and you want to make sure that your vote accurately reflects your intent. Your review is your final safeguard.
If your ballot is not correct, ask the poll captain or a poll worker for assistance before you scan your ballot and definitely before you leave the polling location.

Review your Ballot!
🧐 Be a Respectful Observer
Confirm your voter registration, ID requirements and polling place ahead of time. The State of TN has an app you can download on your mobile phone to review a sample ballot, find your polling locations and know when they open and close for the day. Check with your Secretary of State or local Election Commission for all the information.
A calm, informed voter helps create a calm, confident polling place. Show patience with poll workers and other voters in line with you. Every person there is part of the election process. Understand that you can’t bring in campaign materials, wear campaign gear, or take photos inside the polling location.
Ask questions if something seems off. Poll workers are there to assist. If there is anything unclear, or if you are unsure of the process, ask! It’s always OK to double-check.

✨ Take the Next Step: Participate in the Process

You Make a Difference
Elections work best when everyone lends a hand. If you want to make a greater impact, consider these options:
🗳️ Become a Poll Worker.
Local election commissions always need responsible, civic-minded volunteers to keep things running smoothly.
👀 Serve as a Poll Watcher.
Each party and many community organizations welcome trained volunteers to help ensure transparency and voter confidence.
🏛️ Consider Public Service.
If you’re passionate about leadership, accountability, and community run for local office. School boards, councils, and commissions need thoughtful voices like yours.

🎆 The Good News
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
